A Note from the Session
Dear Christ Church Family,
Last week we were all sad to learn of the Colson’s upcoming move to Atlanta, GA where Chuck will serve as the next Lead Pastor at ChristChurch Presbyterian. While we grieve their departure, we rejoice in all that the Lord has accomplished in Chuck’s faithful ministry among us. We are deeply grateful for the renewal the Lord has worked through his leadership. It has been a privilege for us to serve alongside him to shepherd Christ Church.
As Chuck shared in his recent letter, more than a decade ago we asked the Lord to restore the life and ministries of Christ Church—and he has done exceedingly more than we could ask or imagine. In his faithfulness, God has expanded our gospel witness, multiplied our congregation, strengthened our children’s and youth ministries, raised up new officers, blessed our ministry partnerships, and expanded our staff team. Through it all, we have experienced the rich blessings that are ours in Jesus Christ.
In seasons of transition, we’re tempted to grow anxious and doubt God’s faithfulness. Yet, we rest in the confidence that God, who has been faithful throughout Christ Church’s 40-year history, will continue to provide for our every need. So, in this season, we entrust ourselves to the Lord—our rock and our fortress—and ask that he lead us and guide us for his name’s sake (Ps. 31.3). Please join us in praying for wisdom, peace, and unity in our church as we walk through this season together.
The Session will be meeting on October 27, 2025 to prayerfully discern the path forward and to finalize initial plans for Christ Church. We will send a fuller update following that meeting to keep you informed. In the meantime, expect a phone call from one of our elders as we seek to care for and encourage the congregation during this transition.
